Bio

EastCoastPoet.com has been around since about 2002.  This site got it’s name because I have been known to back pack up and down the coast on my search for meaning and truth.

My name is Jess although sometimes I go by Dylan.  I guess it depends on which personality is writing that day.

I started writing when I was around 8 or 9 years old.  The first piece that I remember writing was called “My Sister” and goes like this:

I had a sister once

but I killed her

Hit her in the head with some logic

and buried her

deep in the back of my mind.

I am inspired by other women with powerful voices in our society like Kathleen Hanna, Kat Bjelland, Ellen, Judy Shepard, Oprah, Courtney Love, Jenny Lewis, Kate Winslet, and so many more.  I am not just a feminist,I am a humanist.

I believe in freedom and equality for those who want it.  I believe in being happy and allowing others to experience the same.  From what I’ve been told, I’m a lesbian, although I personally prefer “Queer” or “Queer Gendered”.

If you happen to enjoy what you see here, I have books that I’m revamping that will be available again soon.  The originals are now out of print.

Anything more should be directed to my email which I personally answer.

Write me at Gypsy.Muse79@gmail.com

Thanks for reading this!
